EXCLUSIVE: Interview with the one and only Maya Kibbel!
|
 |
 |

You may know her as the family friend of the Jonas Brothers, but Maya is all grown up now, living in Japan and following her dream. I was lucky enough to interview her, so enjoy!
Q: I can tell that you love photography. Was it something that you’ve always wanted to do or did you only fall in love with it recently?
M: I fell in love with photography when I was around 13. I was traveling to so many places, going to amazing events & concerts and meeting some incredible people but realized I had no photos of those wonderful memories. That’s why I started taking photos, as a visual diary of sort.
Q: You grew up with the Jonas family, was it hard moving to Tokyo and starting a new life there?
M: Yes. It was definitely a new & very raw chapter of life. Moving to a city where I didn’t know anyone (excluding my family, they all live here) and leaving my other family & friends was very difficult..but thank god for technology!!!
Q: What was it like waking up in a different country/city when you toured with the Jonas Brothers?
M: Astounding. I look back on it now and am still in awe/gratitude/delight that I got to go on tour. Everyone on the bus became a family. After the show we’d get on the bus eat our (midnight) dinner, talk, laugh, watch movies (sometimes Big Rob & I threw dance parties hehe) then sleep for a bit. Wake up grab our cereal & head into the hotel in some other new amazing location.
Q: What’s the one thing you fell in love about being a photographer?
M: Making an amazing one second in time last forever. As I said, my love for photography started by my “visual diary”and that’s entirely because you actually can make those incredible moments in life last forever, simply with a photo.
Q: Is there any particular country that you’d love to visit and take photos of?
M: That’s REALLY tough, but I’d have to say India. It’s so different from any place I’ve ever been. It’s very exotic and beautiful in so many ways.
Q: What are the pro’s and con’s about being a photographer?
M: Pros: the people you meet, the memories you can savor with the photos, doing something you love, going to all sorts of crazy places. Cons: VERY hard to make a living/get a steady photography job, (if you’re like me) you end up bruised all over from climbing things/pushing through people to shoot (haha)
Q: What’s one thing you love about Japan?
M: Tokyo, in general. The fashion/shopping!!!, food, people, parties. There’s never anything “normal” here.
Q: Is there anything you miss about America?
M: MY FRIENDS!!! well, and all the fast food and driving. I love road trips.
Q: When you were younger, what career did you want to follow, if it wasn’t being a photographer? Did you consider anything else?
M: From the time I was 4-12 years old I did commercials, modeling and was a regular in Seasame Street so I thought I wanted to be an actress, but quickly realized I didn’t. Around 12 years old I fell in love with psychology, I still am very interested in it. Then came photography. Although I’d love one day to go to Columbia University to study Philosophy. I am one of those people that wants to conquer every career! haha
Q: Describe yourself in three words.
M: Crazy. Weird. Cuddly.

[UPDATE] Kevin and Danielle Jonas Talk Pregnancy Rumors
|
 |
 |

Is Danielle Jonas pregnant?
That’s just one of the rumors that Kevin Jonas‘ wife has to deal with on a (almost) daily basis.
In a new interview with HuffPost Celebrity, Kevin and Dani answered a series of questions, including, “What is the most ridiculous rumor you’ve ever heard about yourself?”
Kevin answered, “Well, she hears that she’s pregnant, like, every day. I mean, it will happen, but not today!”
Danielle added, “I think that’s the major one that everyone pinpoints on me.”
No doubt that’s one of the pitfalls of being a celebrity–and we know even more Danielle pregnancy rumors will pop up when season 2 of Married to Jonas airs.
As for New Year’s resolutions, Kevin notes he’d like to “get in shape,” explaining, “I’m going back on the road, so being able to handle playing for two and half hours onstage takes a lot out of you.”
Danielle would like to “learn a new recipe each week,” according to Kevin.
Sounds like a resolution that Kevin could get behind, since he’ll get to try out all the recipes!

[UPDATE] Jonas Brothers share their 2012 highlights!
|
 |
 |

What a year it’s been for the Jonas Brothers! After briefly breaking away from the trio to pursue their own individual gigs, they joined forces for a series of reunion shows, tried their hand at the reality TV game and announced a new album was in the works – giving the boys a lot to celebrate this Christmas!
Nick, Kevin and Joe thought it only fitting to share their 2012 highlights with their fans, so the brothers donned Santa hats (with the exception of Nick) and jumped in front of the camera to share a special holiday message.
“We’ve really enjoyed seeing your faces this year,” spilled Nick in the video posted to YouTube, before taking a trip down memory lane.
“We’ve had a pretty amazing year, thanks to all of you with being able to go back on tour together, play shows again, be in the studio. Kevin with ‘Married to Jonas.’ Joe with his solo record and all that happened there.”
“What! What! Nick with ‘How To Succeed,’” interjected Kevin, before letting Nick take the reins again.
“But it was a great year, but most important thing for us is being back together, creating music again for all of you,” Nick revealed.
“And, we’re definitely looking forward to continuing to do that for many, many years to come.”
The brothers already have plenty of gigs lined up in the new year, with a Latin America tour kicking off in February, a new album set for release and Kevin returning to the small screen with his wife Danielle for another season of their reality show ‘Married to Jonas.’

[UPDATE] HuffPo: Kevin Jonas & Danielle Deleasa Address Pesky Baby Rumors, Talk Marriage
|
 |
 |

These days, our knowledge of celebrities too often originates with paparazzi images and snarky quotes by anonymous “insiders.” After a while, it’s easy to forget that stars are real people. That’s why HuffPost Celebrity decided to launch its all-new #nofilter quick-fire question and answer series. Because how well do you know someone until they’ve shared their guiltiest pleasures?
2012 was a good year to be a Jonas. Nick Jonas landed a gig in the smash Broadway musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” Joe Jonas released his first-ever solo album in October, and the hit reality TV show “Married To Jonas,” starring Kevin Jonas and his wife, Danielle Deleasa, has been renewed for a second season. It is no secret that this kind of success comes with its fair share of pressures. So when we had the opportunity to catch up with the incredibly down-to-earth couple behind the hit E! reality TV show at the Cold-EEZE & City Harvest food drive to benefit Hurricane Sandy victims, we figured, what better opportunity exists to put some of these rumors to rest?
What is the most ridiculous rumor you’ve ever heard about yourself?
Kevin Jonas: Well, she hears that she’s pregnant, like, every day. I mean, it will happen, but not today!
Danielle Deleasa: I think that’s the major one that everyone pinpoints on me.
KJ: But that’s OK, they’re all just excited.
If you could give advice to a younger version of yourself what would it be?
KJ: Happy wife, happy life.
DD: [Laughs]
Any New Year’s resolutions this year?
DD: We asked each other that the other day too, but we never came up with one!
KJ: I think it’s always the simple ones like “get in shape.” I’m going back on the road, so being able to handle playing for two and half hours onstage takes a lot out of you.
DD: Wait, I know there’s a good one, I just have to think!
KJ: Oh, she said to learn a new recipe each week. It’s actually a really smart one, because if you do that once a week, it’s 50-something recipes.
How many times a day do you brush your teeth and floss?
DD: Twice!
KJ: At least twice.
Do you ever cheat at board games?
DD: Tell the truth, Kevin!
KJ: I might, once in a while, to try to beat her. But she kicks my butt in Scrabble and I hate it! I’m a huge Monopoly fan, too.
DD: He’s competitive.
When do you lose your temper, Danielle?
KJ: When I don’t listen.
DD: When he doesn’t listen.
Describe each other in one word
DD: Energetic.
KJ: Compassionate.
Finish this sentence: Marriage is…
DD: Wonderful.
KJ: Phenomenal.
